Under the “No Surprises Act” from January 2022, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
If you are uninsured or not using insurance (private pay) you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call CMS at 1-800-985-3059. -
There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Scheduling a therapy appointment reserves that time specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so as early as possible. Should you need to cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment, you will be responsible for the full session fee.

Telephone accessibility
If you need to reach me between sessions, please leave a voicemail message. While I am not always immediately available, I make every effort to return calls within 48 hours. Ongoing care is best provided through scheduled in-person or telehealth sessions, which are preferred over phone conversations. That said, phone sessions may be arranged when clinically appropriate, such as if you are ill, traveling, or in need of additional support.
If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911, the Access and Crisis Line at (888) 724-7240, or go to your nearest emergency department.

Ending therapy can be a meaningful and sometimes emotional process. When possible, I aim to approach termination in a thoughtful and intentional manner that supports a sense of closure. The timing and length of this process depend on the nature, duration, and intensity of our work together. Ideally, therapy concludes when you are doing well and no longer require ongoing support.
In some circumstances, I may determine that it is appropriate to end therapy, such as when treatment is no longer effective, my safety is at risk, or there are unresolved payment concerns. I do not terminate therapy without discussion, and whenever possible, we will review the reasons for ending treatment and plan next steps together. If therapy ends for any reason, I will provide referrals to qualified mental health professionals upon request.
If three consecutive weeks pass without a scheduled appointment and no prior arrangements have been made, the professional relationship will be considered concluded for ethical and legal reasons. You are always welcome to contact me in the future to initiate a new episode of care.
